Adding the Other Party (STEM)
- Student Initiates
The student initiates the STEM OPT Assistant for one time use.
If the student initiates the Assistant, the employer will automatically receive an email with a link to create a unique portal account. The first step for the employer, after logging into the account, is to run a brief intake app.
- Employer Initiates
If the employer initiates the Assistant, the employer will add the student through an app in the portal called “Invite Student.” The student will receive an email prompting the creation of a portal account.
The employer will be asked a few questions about the student
💡 Please note that this step will require the employer to provide the student's SEVIS ID number.
The student will then receive an email prompting him/her to create a portal account.
